Want to learn how to speak English or Spanish? Glendale’s Velma Teague Branch Library is which is now offering a self-paced computer-based language program. The program, the “Rosetta Stone,” has a comprehensive curriculum that is perfect for novice or intermediate learners of any age.

Users will be able to practice their reading and listening comprehension, plus speech recognition and compare their pronunciation to that of a native speaker.

An “Introduction to Rosetta Stone” will be offered in the computer lab at 7 p.m. on Monday, November 7 at the downtown library. Taught in Spanish, the first 30 minutes will be hands-on instruction. The next hour will be students beginning the first lesson. They can return as often as they like to progress through the lessons.

There is no charge for the class or for the use of the computers. The Velma Teague Branch Library is located at 7010 N. 58th Avenue in Glendale. Call 623-930-3537 to sign up or for more information.
