First Friday Phoenix: November 4, 2005

Friday November 4, 2005
I'm getting lots of inquiries about tonight's First Friday in downtown Phoenix. Artlink Phoenix, the organizer of the event, seems to be having difficulty with their web site this week. I do have good news though. The City of Phoenix has arranged for some special parking considerations for tonight's event.

People attending downtown Phoenix’s monthly First Friday Artwalk on Friday, Nov. 4 can take advantage of the following free parking opportunities:
Arizona Center garage - Free parking is available in the Arizona Center garage for patrons who enter the garage between 5 and 10 p.m. and get their parking tickets validated by a participating gallery. The galleries are Holga's, 821 N. Third St.; Modified Arts, 407 E. Roosevelt St.; Mon Orchid Studios, 214 E. Roosevelt St.; Carly's Bistro, 128 E. Roosevelt St.; and Four White Walls, 1023 N.W. Grand Ave. The parking garage entrances are on Fillmore Street, between Third and Fifth streets, and on Fifth Street, north of Van Buren Street.

The First Friday Shuttle bus stops at the Arizona Center on Third Street. Grand Avenue - Free parallel parking is available on both sides of Grand Avenue from Eighth to 15th avenues between 7 p.m. and 3 a.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

First Street (between Roosevelt Street and Margaret T. Hance Park) - Additional free permanent on-street parking has been created to support the galleries and businesses in the area.

As with previous artwalks, First Friday parking also is available at Burton Barr Central Library, 1221 N. Central Ave.

You'll be able to get brochures and maps of the artspaces on the shuttle and at the participating galleries.
