Turkey Trot Walk

Friday November 11, 2005
See Sun City Grand on foot, at your own pace, and enjoy the festivities of this year's Turkey Trot Walk. A 5K and 10K route will be offered on Saturday, November 19, 2005.

The event, open to the public, is the premiere event of the Saguaro Sun Striders, a non-profit walking club based in Surprise. Affiliated with America's premier self-paced walking organization, the American Volkssport Association, ( http://ava.org ), the Striders promote walking and join clubs across the world in putting on self-paced walking events. Walkers from out of state clubs will be traveling to join in on the event.

Register the day of the event outside Dillon's Grand Restaurant between the hours of 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Walkers must be off the route by 1 p.m. The event is free for non-credit walkers with a donation to the Westside Food Bank (monetary or canned goods). AVA-IVV Credit is $3.00.

The Saguaro Sun Striders always welcomes new members and volunteers.

For more information, see the Saguaro Sun Striders website or contact Elizabeth Mitchell by email.
