Mesa Offers Free Landscape Watering Workshop

Tuesday May 30, 2006
Just because we don't have water restrictions at this time doesn't mean that water conservation isn't important. It is. There are many ways in which you can conserve water without much difficulty. I cringe every time I see someone using a hose to clean their driveway! You can plant drought-resistant plants in your yard, or use reclaimed water for irrigation. If you have no access to reclaimed water--and good luck collecting rainwater here--you'll do what most of us do: drip irrigation and sprinkler systems. The problem is that many of us don't really know how much to water and when. That's where the City of Mesa comes in.

You can take the mystery out of landscape watering by attending a free workshop that will explain landscape plant water needs, how to create a watering schedule, and how to program an irrigation timer. Hands-on instruction with the timers will be provided. Proper outdoor watering and timer programming can save residents 30 to 50 percent on their landscape watering this season.

Workshop Name:
Landscape Watering by the Numbers: Water Scheduling and Controller Programming

Where:
