Sad News on Mesa Movie Set
Just a couple of weeks ago, Jennifer Garner apparently passed out on the set from heat exhaustion. She spent a night in the hospital and was released the next day. Husband Ben Affleck flew out to be with her. It wasn't very serious, but unfortunately there's been another incident. A worker on the set of the movie was killed on Saturday, after having been ejected from a cart he was driving on the Loop 202, which was closed at the time. The worker was 25 year old Nick Papac. He was an assistant propmaster from California. Our condolences go out to his family, friends, and co-workers.
Mesa residents were generally not happy with the inconveniences posed by the filming on the freeway, making some rush hour commutes even worse than normal. The fact that no fee was charged for the use of the freeway irked many Mesans. In order to appease angry locals, $40,000 was donated to Mesa Parks and Recreation. The money will be be used for new playground equipment and park renovations.
They are scheduled to be done with the Mesa portion of the filming of The Kingdom by the end of this week.
