Tickets for BCS Championship Game in Arizona

Saturday November 25, 2006
The teams that will play for the national championship of college football haven't been announced yet, and won't be official until December 3, 2006. But people who are trying to get to the game have already pushed ticket prices pretty high, since no tickets are available for sale at face value through traditional means. That means that if you are looking for tickets to the BCS Championship Game on January 8, 2006 at the University of Phoenix Stadium, the only way you'll get them is:
  1. if your company or your client has corporate tickets and you're a star in their eyes
  2. you've got some really good friends who got tickets, either through the universities that are playing or because they had Fiesta Bowl season tickets, and they owe you favors
  3. you pay a small fortune for the tickets through a ticket broker, ticket exchange, online auction, or a scalper.
According to the Arizona Republic, tickets are selling for record high prices. Today I saw BCS tickets being sold at TicketsNow, a ticket broker, for $1,200 and up per ticket, for upper level tickets and lower level end zone seats. (Buy Direct). When the teams are actually announced, we'll see if the prices go up or come down a bit. In any case, always be careful when buying tickets from a source other than the official ticket seller, like ticket brokers, scalpers, or at exchanges and auctions, like Ebay.
