Giants and Patriots Arrive in Arizona

Monday January 28, 2008
Both the New York Giants and the New England Patriots are officially in their temporary residences in the Greater Phoenix area preparing for the big game. Where are the Giants staying? They have taken over the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort, a lovely facility just off I-10 in south Chandler (technically on the Gila River Indian Reservation). Where are the Patriots calling home? On the other side of town, in north Scottsdale, the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa is also considered one of the finest resorts in the area. That's where the New England players, families and staff will receive the royal treatment. If you are thinking that you'll just head on over to the award-winning Kai Restaurant at Wild Horse Pass to get a glimpse of your favorite Giants, or the wonderful Deseo Restaurant at at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa to see what Tom Brady likes to eat, you're out of luck. Both resorts will have tight security, and only those authorized to be at the properties will be allowed in.

The closest you'll probably get to the Pats is Kierland Commons, an upscale shopping and dining area across the street from the resort. As far as where the New York players might venture out in Chandler, the area around Chandler Fashion Center with all those nice restaurants would be a great place to hang around.

Seriously, both teams will probably have strict curfews and spend most of their time at meetings and practicing all week, so I doubt you'll meet anyone famous from the team out and about or on the golf course.
