Did you know that Arizona Fall League Baseball is going on this month? What? You don't even know what it is? Aside from the fact that the games are fun and the tickets are cheap, I can tell you a little more.
According to my friends at Major League Baseball,
- Over 1,500 former Fall Leaguers have played in the major leagues.
- 413 Ex-AFLers were on the 2008 Opening-Day Rosters for Major League Baseball
- 136 MLB All-Stars were former Fall Leaguers, including 36 in 2008
- Arizona Fall League Baseball has produced 5 MLB MVPs: Jason Giambi, Ryan Howard, Justin Morneau, Albert Pujols, Jimmy Rollins
- 3 Cy Young Award winners played in the Arizona Fall League: Chris Carpenter, Roy Halladay, Brandon Webb
- 3 World Series MVPs played in the Arizona Fall League: Jermaine Dye (White Sox), David Eckstein (Cardinals), and Derek Jeter (Yankees).
