I tried to go to Street Eats, the inaugural Food Truck Festival at Salt River Fields in Scottsdale today. It took me 30 minutes to get from the Loop 101 to Hayden (about a mile) and I still had about a mile to go. I checked Twitter from my phone and saw tweets about very long lines, long waits and vendors running out of food with more than three hours of the event left to go. I had another commitment for the afternoon, so I gave up. Organizing an inaugural event is so tricky. It will be interesting to see what adjustments are made next year, if the organizers decide to repeat the event.
