In past weeks I featured several celebrations around town related to Chinese New Year 2012, the Year of the Dragon.

P.F. Chang's, a national chain of Chinese restaurants that started in Arizona and is headquartered in Scottsdale, is celebrating the Year of the Dragon with a special gift for restaurant guests. In honor of the 15-day Chinese celebration, eat at any P.F. Chang's now through February 6, 2012 and receive a red envelope. On your next visit (by March 4th), a P.F. Chang's staffer will open the envelope and reveal its contents. It could be a discount on the meal (10%-50%), a free appetizer or free dessert, and must be redeemed by March 4, 2012. Red envelopes are a traditional Chinese gift of the New Year and the red color symbolizes good luck while warding off evil spirits.

P.F. Chang's also partnered with Tsingtao Lager, China's #1 beer, to create a specialty cocktail, the P.F. Chang's Dragon Punch. Try one at one of their eight locations in the metro Phoenix area (Chandler, Goodyear, Mesa, Peoria, Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe). Did you know that P.F. Chang's also just introduced a new lunch menu, with more than 20 lunch combinations for under $10? I haven't tried it yet....
