This column includes announcements of seminars, workshops, community events, fundraisers and other programs for which there is an admission charge, a donation expected or you are otherwise expected to spend money, such as shopping events. Advance registration is required at some these events, so you might see them listed here weeks before they are scheduled to occur.

What: National Concierge Association Annual Fundraiser
When: Friday, April 13, 2012 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Where: Donovan's Steak & Chop House 3101 E. Camelback Rd., Phoenix
Portion of the funds raised will be donated to The FETCH Foundation. Silent Auction, Chinese Auction & Balloon Pop. Sample of previously donated items: Dinner with a Fireman, Autographed sports memorabilia, Hotel stays, Spa treatments, Jewelry, Rounds of golf, Dining certificates, Desert excursions, Passes to local attractions. $5 admission, includes 1 raffle ticket. Light appetizers will be available for purchase. Cash bar. Complimentary valet parking.
What: Concert by Mike Chamberlin "The Singing TV Guy"
When: Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 1 p.m.
Where: Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church, 9590 E Shea Blvd., Scottsdale
Mike brings his guitar and sings "Music Through the Decades" and also shares excerpts from his book "God Has A Sense Of Humor For Heaven's Sake". This is a one hour show followed by a reception. $5 per person. Tickets at the door or in advance in the church office.
What: Movie at the Phoenix Art Museum
When: Saturday, April 14, 2012 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Where: Whiteman Hall at the Phoenix Art Museum
The Jane Austen Society of North America Greater Phoenix (JASNA PHX) invites you to spend an afternoon enjoying a modern adaptation of the Jane Austen classic Sense and Sensibility on film, Scents & Sensibility. $10 per person. The first 50 people to purchase a ticket will be entered to win a free DVD of the movie.
What: Desert Dog Regional Police K-9 Trials
When: Saturday and Sunday, April 14 & 15, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Scottsdale Stadium
Watch a police dog competition featuring police K-9 teams from around the Southwest. A $1 donation is requested. The event includes vendor booths and displays along with raffles and giveaways. No private dogs will be allowed in the stadium.
What: Geocaching Workshop
When: Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Where: Rio Vista Recreation Center, Peoria
Geocaching uses GPS satellites and handheld receivers to guide participants to hidden "caches, located throughout the city. They can be found in parking lots, public parks, hiking trails, etc. Caches contain "loot" and logbooks that track other people who have found the hidden location. This hobby is great for kids and adults of all ages and is a fun outdoor family activity. Course #70146. Ages 6+ (with adult). $10 for single registrant; $15 for a pair. What: Larry Fitzgerald's Celebrity Charity Softball Game
When: Saturday, April 21, 2012. Gates open at 12:30 p.m., game starts at 1:30 p.m.
Where: Salt River Fields, Peoria
Celebrity teams play softball to benefit the Larry Fitzgerald First Down Fund. This family-friendly event offers a chance to meet Larry Fitzgerald and other guest athletes along with an opportunity for photos and autographs. Live auction. Proceeds go to fight breast cancer, to prevent HIV/AIDS, to educate youth and to help a number of charitable organizations.
What: Yoga Rocks the Park
When: Sunday, April 22, 2012 at 2 p.m.
Where: Margaret T Hance Deck Park, Phoenix
Yoga Rocks the Park offers live music, instruction from top local and national instructors, a wellness vendor area along with a children's program, Camp Yoga Rocks (ages 5 - 10). $10 per person if purchased in advance online. Registration opens at 1 p.m. day of event, $15 per person.
What: Girls on the Run
When: Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Where: Kiwanis Park, Tempe
A 5K run that is a culminating event of the 12-week Girls on the Run educational program benefiting Girls on the Run serving Maricopa & Pinal Counties. This will be the first year that the event incorporates chip timing, awards and a single-loop, flat, fast course with staggered starts. Individuals can register as a 5k participant in the public 5k run, be a Running Buddy or an event volunteer. There will also be a supply drive held at the event for all supplies necessary to implement the Girls on the Run's curriculum that will be benefit underprivileged girls in the program. Event registration will begin at 7 a.m. $25 in advance, $30 day of race. Registration is available online and includes race entry and an event t-shirt. All ages, all genders. Girls on the Run is a Valley-based nonprofit organization inspiring young girls to live a healthy life and be confident through experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. All race registration fees will benefit Girls on the Run's education program to prepare girls for a lifetime of wellness and self-respect. Food, music, raffle prizes, face painting and interactive activities.
What: Chick-fil-A Leadercast Chandler
When: Friday, May 4, 2012 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Where: Cornerstone Church, 1595 S. Alma School Road, Chandler
One-day live leadership simulcast featuring John Maxwell, Tim Tebow, Andy Stanley, Patrick Lencioni, Marcus Buckingham and others. Learn how to improve your leadership skills, network with other leaders and gain direction for your future growth. Proceeds from Leadercast to benefit Cardon Children's Medical Center. $79 per person, includes lunch, breakfast/afternoon snack, booklet & more, free parking.
