Advance registration is required at some these events, so you might see them listed here weeks before they are scheduled to occur.

Meet Sarah Moesbergen, Phoenix Dog Whisperer, of America's Canine Academy! Bring your dog for a free evaluation and learn what you can do to improve life with your pet. All dogs must be on a leash! Meet at the Softball Complex, Field #2. Bring plenty of water for you and your pets. Hats are a good idea. Park Entrance Fee is $6 per vehicle
What: Underground Cities 'ARCOSANTI' CD Release Show
When: Saturday, May 12, 2012. Doors open at 7 p.m., show at 8 p.m.

What: Mother's Day Instrument Craft
When: Sunday, May 13, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Musical Instrument Museum, Phoenix
Make a zany zither with or for Mom on her special day. MIM volunteers and staff will guide guests in the creation of a stringed instrument with lots of personality as well as provide some history and fun facts. $2 per craft with museum admission. Register for a chance to win a special gift for Mom from MIM and the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North. Prize giveaways announced at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., & 4 p.m in the MIM Lobby.
What: Go All In For Paul Charity Poker Tournament
When: Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 1 p.m.
Where: BullShooters Sports Bar & Billiards, 3337 W. Peoria Avenue, Phoenix
A taco bar & refreshments begin at noon. There is a $50 tournament buy-in fee, which includes 4,000 chips and $10 in food and drink tickets. The event will include a raffle for gift baskets and prizes. The purpose of the event is to support Paul Gardner in his fight against Esophageal Cancer and raise awareness of the disease, its risk factors and symptoms. Paul Gardner is a 43-year-old father of two young boys, who was diagnosed with Stage IV Esophageal Cancer in September 2011. Esophageal Cancer is now it is one of the fastest growing cancers in the United States today. Tickets online or at the door.
What: Phoenix Children's Chorus
When: Saturday, May 19 at 7 p.m. (Mesa Arts Center) and Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 4 p.m. (Pinnacle Presbyterian Church, 25150 N. Pima Rd., Scottsdale
The Phoenix Children's Chorus, comprised of over 300 voices aged 8 - 18, will perform their final concert of the 2011-12 Season. The Spring Concert will include a wide array of musical selections, from masterpieces from the Renaissance era, to the 70's rock anthem, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. Other selections include such inspirational pieces as Babethandaza, a South African folk song and Marchin' With the Saints, Greg Gilpin's rambunctious take on the jazz classic, When the Saints Go Marching In. A highlight of the concert will be the rousing performance of Arizona, an Arizona Centennial celebration piece specially commissioned for the Phoenix Children's Chorus. What: Phoenix Symphony in Goodyear
When: Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: Lakeside Amphitheater at Estrella, 10300 S. Estrella Pkwy, Goodyear
Popular movie scores by the famous composer John Williams will be the theme of this year's event. Pack a picnic, bring a blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of popular music under a canopy of stars. No alcohol, glass, or pets allowed. Wine, soda, and food will be sold at the event. A Kids Zone will keep the children entertained before the concert begins. A fireworks show over the lake will follow the concert. Gates open at 4 p.m. Symphonic Winds perform at 5 p.m., Phoenix Symphony performs at 7 p.m. $20 adult/$15 student/$15 Goodyear resident, $5 (ages 10 and under). VIP seating is $75 per person.
What: Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Celebration
When: Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: English Rose Tea Room, 201 Easy Street, Carefree
Celebrate with England and the world at authentic British-style, two-day street party with double-decker bus, guests in tiaras and fancy hats, royal souvenirs, canine Corgis, formal afternoon tea and more. Admission is $50. Seating is limited. Reservations are recommended by calling the English Rose Tea Room, 480-488-4812.
