What: Glendale Cash Mob
When: Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: The Country Maiden and Papa Ed's Ice Cream, 7146 N. 58th Ave., Glendale
Local First Arizona (LFA) is collaborating with fellow LFA members The Country Maiden and Papa Ed's Ice Cream to host Glendale's first ever cash mob. The
cash mob is a fairly recent phenomenon, having grown from the desire to show support for small, independent businesses. During a cash mob a large group of people descend on a business in a short time span, and each person spends a specific amount in cash at that business. The amount for this cash mob is $20. Pick up a Golden Coupon to use at participating businesses during Local First Arizona's Independents Week, July 1-7, 2012. Consumers will be able to use the Golden Coupon at participating LFA member businesses to receive 20% off of purchases. Following the cash mob, an after party is being hosted by the Gaslight Inn's Beer and Wine bar, less than 2 blocks away. The address is 5745 W. Glendale Ave.
What: Mesa Cash Mob
When: Friday, June 29, 2012 from noon to 1 p.m.
Where: Lo Fi Coffee, 105 W. Main Street, Mesa

cash mob is designed to show support for small, independent businesses. During a cash mob a large group of people descend on a business in a short time span, and each person spends a specific amount in cash at that business. The amount for this cash mob is $10 to $20. When: Friday and Saturday, June 29 and 30, 2012
Where: Stand-Up Scottsdale
General admission tickets are $15 each. Shows at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. This is an adult-themed show.
What: America's Best Dance Crew Season 7 winners - ELEKTROLYTES
When: Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.
Where: Higley Center for the Performing Arts, 4132 East Pecos Rd, Gilbert
The first public performance by the crew since winning the competition on national television on June 13th. Tickets are $30 for VIP seating (Rows B-K seats 201-214), meet and greet after the show, and autographed poster. Regular tickets are $20. Tickets are available online. The box office will open at 6 p.m. on the day of the performance to purchase any remaining tickets.
What: Free Comedy Fridays at Wild Horse Pass
When: Specific Fridays this summer: July 6 and 13, August 10 and 24, 2012
Where: Ovations at Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino, Chandler
On select Fridays during July and August, Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino will showcase nationally touring comedians. Tickets are free for people with valid Player's Club Card (cards are free but must be obtained at the casino) or for $10 without a Player's Club Card:

Summer Scene and Scents - make cupcake soaps using various cookie cutters and "scents". Layer an 11"x14" canvas with acrylic paints and patterned papers for texture to take you on a journey to create scenes from your favorite summer escape! Open to ages 5+. Register online. Seats are limited. $48 for non-members, $42 for members.
What: Miss Arab USA 2012 Pageant
When: Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 7 p.m.
Where: Talking Stick Resort, Scottsdale
Watch 22 women representing the 22 Arab countries that will be competing for the Miss Arab USA Crown. The Miss Arab USA Pageant aims to capture the community in support of uniting Arabs as well as friends and families of the culture in celebrating the Arab traditions and heritage. The Pageant advances to introduce the importance of the intelligent mind and personalities for young women of Arab descent. Tickets $35 and up.
What: Dry Heat Classic
When: July 26, 27 & 28, 2012
Where: Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino, Chandler
The Michael Finney Foundation has teamed up with the Arizona Spinal Cord Injury Association to present the 16th Annual Dry Heat classic, a fundraiser that will benefit several local nonprofits. The three day event will include a celebrity golf tournament, chef's dinner, silent auction, raffle, two nights of stand up comedians and magic acts. Prices vary.
