Restauranteur and Chef Brian Malarkey, a Cali resident who brought his San Diego Searsucker restaurant concept to Scottsdale in 2012, will be one of the stars of a new TV show entitled The Taste. The two-hour premiere will air on ABC (Channel 15) at 7 p.m. local Arizona time on Tuesday, January 22, 2013.

The gist of the show is that competitors create dishes attempting to impress four expert chefs -- Anthony Bourdain, Nigella Lawson, Ludo Lefebvre and Brian Malarkey -- each of whom will coach a team of four competitor cooks, some professional and some amateur. At the end of each episode, the experts judge the dishes blind and eliminations ensue.
This past week, Brian Malarkey was in Scottsdale hosting dinners and happy hours at Searsucker in Scottsdale. It is an exciting addition to the local culinary scene. You can read my review of Searsucker here.
