Those of you following the tragedy related to the still-burning Yarnell Hill Fire near Prescott, Arizona have undoubtedly seen the photo of 19 young men in brown shirts and khaki pants, members of the The Granite Mountain Hot Shots, posing for a photo. You might wonder why I have not posted that same photo.
Here's the thing. The young men in that picture are not necessarily the 19 men who died in the Yarnell Hill Fire. Members of that Hot Shot team change often. I do not know the date that the photo was taken, but I have confirmed with the City of Prescott that the photo is creating an awkward situation for team members pictured there who are alive and were not on the team at the time of this fire.
I am advised that there are efforts underway to obtain photos of the 19 brave firefighters who died battling this blaze.
