Pat Tillman Remembered
Saturday April 24, 2004
Pat Tillman was born on November 6, 1976. He died in Afghanistan serving his country on April 22, 2004.
Pat Tillman went to Arizona State University where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in marketing. He had a 3.84 GPA. He was a professional football player with the Arizona Cardinals. Said to be deeply affected by the events of 9/11, Pat Tillman and his brother decided to join the Army Rangers, to serve their country.
In 2001, Pat had turned down a $9 million, contract offer from the Super Bowl champion St. Louis Rams so he could stay with the Cardinals where he felt. Later, he thanked the Arizona Cardinals for the three-year, $3.8 million contract that they offered him to play, but said no thanks--some things are more important.
Tillman is survived by his wife, Marie, his parents, and two brothers.
