Unborn Child in Phoenix HOV Lane, Revisited
Tuesday January 10, 2006
A local TV station is running a story about a woman is going to court to have hundreds of dollars in fines overturned because she was driving in the HOV lane during times when the occupancy of the vehicle is supposed to be 2+ people. She says that her unborn child is a person, so she shouldn't have gotten a ticket.
Do you think she read my main page last February when I wrote about that issue? I wonder if it's the same woman who sent me the email!
UPDATE: The Judge ruled that the second passenger in the car has to be someone who would sit in a separate seat. She lost her case.
Should she be allowed to use the HOV lane? Vote in this poll!

When I went to traffic school the instructor told me a story similar to this. But he also said the the judge told the lady she could get out of paying for the ticket, but that he was going to give her a ticket for having two people behind the wheel.
