500 Doubles for Luis Gonzales

Tuesday April 18, 2006
Congrats to the Arizona Diamondbacks' left fielder Luis Gonzales, who in the 6th inning during tonight's game became only the 21st player in baseball history to have hit 300 homes runs and 500 doubles in a major league baseball career. Coincidentally, the only two active players to have achieved this formidable milestone are now Luis Gonzales and Barry Bonds with the SF Giants, who were the visiting team at Chase Field playing against the Diamondbacks when Luis Gonzales hit his 500th double. Way to go Luis! Oh, and besides being a good ball player, he's a nice guy, too.
