$2,200,000 for Camelback Mountain

Monday September 18, 2006
Do you remember last April--yes, I know that was almost 6 months ago!--I sent out a plea for everyone to vote for their favorite Phoenix landmarks so we could get a spot on the new Monopoly Board being designed by Parker Brothers? Well, I'm pleased to announce that Camelback Mountain came in 11th place of all the choices, and will occupy the red space that we all came to know as Kentucky Avenue in the original Monopoly board. On each side of Camelback Mountain, Disney World will occupy the Illinois Avenue red spot, and Waikiki Beach will be located on the red Indiana Avenue location.

The new "Here & Now" edition of Monopoly replaces Atlantic City's streets with 22 American cities and their most notable landmarks. Rents, of course, have been significantly increased. You can see a photo of our new Monopoly space here.
