Follow me on:

Judy Hedding became a resident of the Phoenix metropolitan area in 1979. Since her move to Arizona, she's lived in several different communities: Phoenix (two different neighborhoods), Tempe, Mesa and Chandler (two different neighborhoods). The Valley of the Sun -- the moniker by which the Greater Phoenix area is widely known -- is huge, and Judy has watched this uncomplicated western town morph into one of largest metropolitan areas in the country.

Experience:

Judy Hedding has been the About.com Expert on Phoenix since 2000. She has been quoted in publications such as The Arizona Republic and the Wall Street Journal, and participated in local radio shows and media events. Judy travels around Greater Phoenix every week documenting activities and local trends for residents, as well as for tourists and people considering relocating to the area.

Judy has participated in many organizations and committees since moving to Arizona, including various Greater Phoenix economic development efforts and business-related philanthropy. She is a Past District Governor, Arizona and Distinguished Toastmaster in the Toastmasters International organization.

A Can you give me recommendations for restaurants, attractions, vacation spots, and the best areas to live?
Q. I address all of those issues and more here at the About.com Phoenix site. Everyone has their own special situation, so if you have a specific question, you can send me an email. If I can answer off the top of my head, I will do so. Honestly, though, I am not in a position to provide spiritual, family, moving, marketing, education, itineraries or job hunting advice. Those broader questions are best to post in the Phoenix Forum.

Q: I have a complicated question about moving to or living in Phoenix. Can you answer it for me?
A: If you post your question in the Phoenix Forum you might get several opinions or ideas.

Q. Can you send me the Phoenix Guide?
A. There is no physical guidebook for all the information I provide. It is all online at this website.

Q: Will you link to my website?
A. Maybe. Keep in mind, this is not a directory or a link farm. I don't do link exchanges. If you would like me to consider your website submit this form. Include the URL, and a brief annotation about the site. It must specifically relate to Greater Phoenix in some way. I will let you know whether or not I'll be adding the link. If the email address you provide is a fake or invalid, or you don't have your spam filter set to allow the domains "about.com" and "aboutguide.com" don't expect to hear from me!

Q. Can I link to Phoenix.About.com?
A. Yes, you can.

Q. If I send you an email, will you answer it?
A. Yes, I will, as long as your email isn't rude or profane. It might take a few days.

Q. I sent a nice, polite email, and you didn't answer. Why not?
A. I receive hundreds of emails every day, and some might be inadvertently filtered as spam or lost. You might want to try again in a few days if you don't hear from me. Warning: I can't tell you how many times I have provided a detailed answer to a question only to find out that someone's spam filter won't let my reply through! Please make certain that you include the domain "about.com" and "aboutguide.com" in your safe list or white list in your own email program.

Q. Can you help me with my homework or my report?
A. No, I can't. It's been too long since I did homework and I don't know how anymore. Seriously, you need to do your own research.

Q. How do I advertise on About.com Phoenix?
A. Here is how advertising works.

Q: I just need to contact you. How do I do that?
A: You can send me an email.
