Your Guide to Navigating Phoenix.About.com

By , About.com Guide

Isn't it frustrating when you find a great page and then can't find it again the next day, or when you just don't know where to start to find what you are looking for? Since the About.com Phoenix site includes thousands of pages, chances are that what you are looking for does exist, but finding it doesn't have to be a chore.

Here are some links to help you find whatever you need on the About.com Phoenix site, including topical, chronological, and alphabetical indexes, search help, and community features like newsletters and forums.

The Main Page

The home page of About.com Phoenix is where, every day or two, I write about a local news story, an upcoming event, a new article or direct you to some timely information. That's my blog. You'll also find a section called "Must Reads" mentioned below. This is the page that you might want to make your start page when you first start the Internet on your computer.

Articles

Index to articles about the greater Phoenix, Arizona area. These are listed chronologically, most recent first, and go back to 1999.

Categories

At the About.com Phoenix site there are over 250 categories of information, containing thousands of pages of information about the Greater Phoenix area. You begin your navigation of those categories on the left side of the Main Page, with the 15 top level categories.

How To

These are articles that answer specific questions, like, How to Get a Marriage License, or How to Treat a Scorpion Sting.

Buyer's Guide

Find books and products that are related in some way to Phoenix, or the desert or the Southwest, that might be of interest to visitors to About.com Phoenix. Looking for a gift for someone you love, or even yourself? This is the place.

Newsletter

Once each week I send out a newsletter that highlights new items at the Phoenix site, or timely topics that may be of interest to my readers and visitors.

Relocation Newsletter

A special eight week set of newsletters geared especially to those who are considering a move to Phoenix. A different topic each week will cover many of the concerns and questions that I receive from people who are trying to decide if Phoenix is the right place for them.

Desert Heat Newsletter

A special eight day set of newsletters that address the issues related to living with desert heat for several months of the year. You'll find out about how the summer heat affects utility costs, pets, your car, your home and more.

Forum

Some people refer to these as bulletin boards. This is where you can go to ask questions of other Phoenix residents. You can get opinions (beware--not everyone always agrees!) raise issues, and post information. You can read forum posts as a guest, but in order to reply to a post, or start a new thread, you have to sign up to be an About.com Member. Don't worry -- it's easy to do and it is free. You can also see a few forum posts on this page. Just click on one of them, and you'll be taken to the Phoenix Forum.

Search

Can't find what you want? Try a search. You'll find the Search box at the upper right portion of the screen.

Broken Links

If you find links that don't work, or seem to go to the wrong page, please let me know.

Submit a Link

If you would like me to consider your web site for inclusion at About.com Phoenix, complete this form. I don't add links to sites that are basically lists of other links or directories. The web site must be well constructed and well written, and incorporate original content that relates to Phoenix in some way. Because About.com Phoenix is not a link directory, I don't promise that even a great site will be approved for a link; it simply depends on the subject matter of the site that is submitted, and what my editorial decisions are relative to that topic. I will always let you know, one way or the other.

Submit an Event

If you would like me to consider adding your event to the About.com Phoenix Event Calendar, here's a separate page of instructions.

Enjoy your visit to the About.com Phoenix site!
