The Great Place to Work® Institute is responsible for independently conducting the research for the Valley of the Sun list and solely determining which companies appear on the Best Companies to Work For in the Valley of the Sun list. In order to be considered, a company must have at least 50 full or part-time employees. It must be located in the Metro Phoenix Area (Maricopa and Pinal counties). These companies can be for-profit, non-profit, private, public, subsidiaries or business units, government or state agencies, or charitable organizations. Any company that appears on the list was selected primarily on the basis of their employees' responses to the Great Place to Work® Trust Index© (an employee survey), the company questionnaire (Great Place to Work® Culture Audit©), and accompanying materials submitted by the company for consideration, as well as information gathered from other reputable sources (such as media stories about the company).
