Snakebite

One Man's Story of a Rattler Bite, and the Remedies That Helped Him

"On Sunday, four days after the incident, the snakebite punctures had turned dark red, and looked bad (in my opinion). After taking the bromelain and echinacea and grapes, etc., on Monday morning we looked at the foot. Everything had improved immensely. The wound color had returned to light pink. The skin looked good. The swelling was down. I could put substantial body weight on my foot without discomfort. I could remain vertical for several hours without discomfort.

Eleven days have passed since my rattlesnake bite. Yesterday evening, I bicycled four miles into downtown Yarnell and back home again. My legs, and stamina, feel very, very strong. The foot swelling and skin discoloration are almost completely gone. There is a little pink spot on the skin, on top of my foot arch, where the snakebite occurred. Everything else has nearly healed back to normal. Now there remains only a tiny trace of the venom in my foot. Some 99% has dissipated into my bloodstream during the past 11 days.

It was so great to toss the crutches and to begin walking on both feet again. I had been using crutches to "hobble" around, since the day after the bite. Because ofthe episode with the rattlesnake, I have purchased two very good heavy-duty flashlights. Now I will have flashlights to use here after dark, with one by the front door and one in my truck. No more walking around outside after dark without a flashlight....

A friend from church saw me bicycling through Yarnell. I stopped in front of her store and we chatted. She said that the reason I have recovered and healed so quickly is because I was in such excellent health and physical condition before the snake bite. That is true, of course. And I also give thanks for the many prayers of church friends in SE Mississippi,Phoenix,Prescott, and here in Yarnell.

I am still drinking lots of water and grape juice and orange juice, taking powdered vitamin C, aloe vera, echinacea, goldenseal, bromelain and papaya concentrates, fresh pineapple, and fresh baby carrots. I change the castor oil dressing on the foot several times daily - the castor oil feels very good. I'm eating grape nuts (breakfast), and clam chowder, mac/cheese, and Ezekiel health bread. My neighbor humorously remarked yesterday that I am recovering so rapidly "in spite of" all the crazy herbs and remedies that I have been taking. Maybe he is right. Ha! Do you suppose that a couple dozen Big Macs and several large greasy pizzas would have done equally well???

Thanks to everyone for their prayers. After 11 days, both the snake and I are doing fine. Well, actually, I'm doing better than the snake. I'm walking again, but the snake is still slithering."
