Call Centers Are Plentiful in the Phoenix Area

By , About.com Guide

If you are considering call center jobs in the Phoenix area, you will be able to find opportunities at one of the many call centers that are located in nearly every part of town. During the 1990's, when economic times were good and the area was experiencing incredible growth, many large companies were attracted to the area and found it a desirable place to build their operations centers and customer service centers, creating thousands of call center jobs. According to the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, the reason for this was that the Phoenix area has:

  • Advanced telecommunications infrastructure
  • Large and growing labor pool
  • Relatively low business and labor costs
  • Neutral-accent population
  • Excellent weather without natural disasters
  • High-quality lifestyle

Call centers usually are large facilities where many people work, often at all hours of the day or night. They are not usually places where there is direct customer contact. Typically, they are centers where callers who have questions about products or accounts are assisted by customer service representatives on the phone. If you are looking for employment, a call center job may be right for you if you enjoy customer contact, like flexibility of work hours (great for students and parents), enjoy dressing casually for work, and appreciate working for large companies that often have extensive benefit packages.

On the next page I have listed several companies offering call center jobs in the Phoenix area, with information on how to apply for a call center job.
