Every year Arizonans anticipate the coming of the Maricopa County Fair, where the emphasis is on education and fun, with a particular focus on agriculture.
What is the Maricopa County Fair?
The first Maricopa County Fair was held in 1934 and each year thereafter until in 1954 a fire forced it to close. It reopened in 1975 and has been going strong ever since.
The Maricopa County Fair is a nonprofit organization. The mission of the Maricopa County Fair is "to provide an entertainment venue that will attract Maricopa County residents of all ages to participate in educational and competitive activities that promote life skills, with special emphasis on agriculture. This includes providing the youth of our community a public forum to showcase their talents in arts, science and other educational projects."
