Every year Arizonans anticipate the coming of the Maricopa County Fair, where the emphasis is on education and fun, with a particular focus on agriculture.

What is the Maricopa County Fair?
The first Maricopa County Fair was held in 1934 and each year thereafter until in 1954 a fire forced it to close. It reopened in 1975 and has been going strong ever since.
The Maricopa County Fair is a nonprofit organization. The mission of the Maricopa County Fair is "to provide an entertainment venue that will attract Maricopa County residents of all ages to participate in educational and competitive activities that promote life skills, with special emphasis on agriculture. This includes providing the youth of our community a public forum to showcase their talents in arts, science and other educational projects."
When is the Maricopa County Fair?
Wednesday, April 11, 2012: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.Thursday, April 12, 2012: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Friday, April 13, 2012: 10 a.m. to midnight
Saturday, April 14, 2012: 10 a.m. to midnight
Sunday, April 15, 2012: 10 a.m. to 10. p.m. (carnival opens at 11 a.m.)
What Happens at the Fair?
There are many exhibits at the Maricopa County Fair, including farm equipment, Four C's, farm tours and livestock exhibits. These are what really sets the Maricopa County Fair apart from your typical carnival. Kiddie Koral and Farm Tours will delight the younger children. There are marionettes and dog shows, fire safety demonstrations, and more. How do I get to the Maricopa County Fair?
The Maricopa County Fair will be held at the Arizona State Fair Grounds at 1826 W. McDowell Rd. in Phoenix. Here are directions and a map to the Arizona State Fairgrounds. There is a $7 charge to park.How much does it cost to get in?
Admission: $9; children 7 and under: free. In addition to the admission charge, an unlimited carnival ride pass for $30 is available.Are there any coupons or discounts available?
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday is free admission for everyone until 3 p.m. Seniors (55+) receive free admission on Wednesday, April 11, 2012. Uniform Day is Wednesday, April 11, 2012. If you are in an organized club, are part of a team or in the military, wear your uniform to the fair that day and receive free Fair admission. April 11 or 12 after 3 p.m. bring your donation of 3 cans of food to the fair and receive $4 off admission.
