  • Movies at the Museum
    Phoenix Art Museum. Independent and classic cinema and documentaries relating to art, artists, and works on view in the Museum, usually followed by discussion. Free with paid museum admission. First come, first seated.

  • Music in the Garden

  • Native American Arts Festival
    Some of the finest artists in the Southwest gather in downtown Litchfield Park for this festival showcasing both traditional and modern Native American Art.

  • Native Trails
    Native Trails celebrates Native American society and focuses on the individual cultures of these Southwest tribes. Native American performers present musical performances using traditional instruments. Chairs and picnic baskets welcome. Native foods, arts, crafts, and jewelry. Scottsdale Civic Center Mall.   • No Pants AZ Light Rail Ride
    An event where people ride light rail and take off their pants, and try to act normal about it. Underwear and appropriate demeanor required.

  • Out and About in Avondale
    A monthly community event in Avondale. Activities vary each month and may include block parties, concerts, movies, and seasonal holiday-themed events.

  • Outdoor Sculpture Tour
    Hosted by the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA). Tour meets at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. Free. Downtown Scottsdale.

  • P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona
    P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon & 1/2 Marathon will go through three Arizona cities. Live music along the entire route.

  • Superstition Mountain Heritage Days-Apacheland Remembered
    Celebrating the anniversary of Apacheland Movie Ranch. Living history demonstrations, gunfights, Native American dancers.

  • Talk Cinema
    Audience members are the critics at a sneak-preview film. This film series screens award-winning indie and foreign films before their theatrical release. The films are selected from leading festivals by critic Harlan Jacobson. Screenings include moderated conversations hosted by guest speakers. Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts.

  • College Football's Biggest Party
    A huge tailgate party, right before the Fiesta Bowl. University of Phoenix Stadium Parking Lot, Glendale.

  • Walkabout
    A celebration of local traditions, national customs and global cultures that showcases the Museum's international collection of art. Live performances by storytellers, artists and musicians that reflect the works exhibited. Phoenix Art Museum.

    Local musicians perform at a free open mic night from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tempe Center for the Arts in Downtown Tempe.

  • Waste Management Phoenix Open Golf Tournament
    In North Scottsdale the pro golfers will get together for the first PGA tournament of the year. The PGA Waste Management Phoenix Open Golf Tournament, formerly known as the FBR Open, is held at the TPC Scottsdale course at the Fairmont Scottsdale. This tournament attracts the largest crowds of any PGA event.

  • Winter Water Safety Day and Polar Plunge
    A brisk morning swim to help promote water safety. The pool is not heated, estimated to be in the 50s. Registration required. Sunrise Pool, Peoria.
