In a large metropolitan area like Phoenix, you might expect that there is always something going on. You are correct! Phoenix, Peoria, Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Glendale and many other communities have recurring events of which they are proud.

These are many of the community events that you can count on year in and year out. All dates, prices, and activities mentioned are subject to change without notice. Check the web site or call to confirm information. The activities in this event calendar are appropriate for families unless otherwise indicated. If they event is free, I'll mention that, too.

• Concerts and Shows Scheduled For March in the Phoenix Area

• Agave on the Rocks Festival
  Enjoy ice cold margaritas made with the Hornitos line of fine Mexican tequilas, sample cuisine prepared by 15 Valley restaurants and caterers and dance to the sounds of Latin Funk music. • April Pools Day - Chandler

• Arizona Black Film Showcase
  The event is comprised of two days of educational workshops, film screenings, an awards ceremony, and vendor festival. Downtown Phoenix.

• Arizona Dragon Boat Festival
  Dragon Boat Races at Tempe Town Lake. Craft booths and entertainment.

• Arizona Easter Pageant
  Since 1928 the Mesa Arizona Temple has been producing the annual Arizona Easter Pageant, proclaimed as the world’s largest annual outdoor Easter pageant.

• Arizona Fine Art Expo
  A 10 week event in north Scottsdale. See designers, painters, sketchers and sculptors at work. Demonstrations and workshops, fine wines and cuisine.

• Arizona Game and Fish Expo
  Activities, demonstrations and exhibits in the areas of hunting, fishing, recreational shooting, archery, off-highway vehicle (OHV) and watercraft recreation, conservation and wildlife education, camping and other outdoor elements.

• Arizona House Beautiful - A Desert Living Show
  450 exhibitors of home improvement products and services. Seminars, a complete kitchen renovation on site during the show, and antique auction. University of Phoenix Stadium.

  At WestWorld in North Scottsdale. Registered miniature horses in performances and competition.

• Arizona Sting
  The Arizona Sting team plays professional indoor Lacrosse at the Jobing.com Arena (formerly Glendale Arena).

• Art Detour
  A free, 2-day, self-guided tour of artist studios, art spaces and other art venues in downtown Phoenix.

• Arts and Flowers at Phoenix Art Museum
  Presented by the Phoenix Art Museum League. For four days arrangements by dozens of Valley floral designers and garden clubs will be on view throughout the Museum’s galleries to complement and illuminate the Museum’s works of art. Demonstrations and workshops, raffle. Phoenix Art Museum.

• Arts Jam Festival
  A community music, dance & art festival. Arts activities and demonstrations for kids, student art and photography, art for sale, crafts for sale, sign up for summer classes and lessons and more. Free. Kiwanis Park, Tempe.

• Avondale's Entertainment Series
  Free concerts and shows will be held at Avondale Civic Center Amphitheater. Bring lawn chairs and blankets. Pack a picnic dinner (no glass containers or alcohol), or purchase a meal from a vendor.

• Beaglefest
  Arizona Beagle Rescue's annual Valley fundraiser and social opportunity for beagles and their families to play and celebrate their beagleness. Phoenix.

• Cactus League Baseball
  Each March the 12 Major League Baseball teams that make up the Cactus League come to Arizona for exhibition baseball.
  In 2008: Almost every day in March

• Carefree Fine Arts and Wine Festival
  Arts, crafts, entertainment, wine. Over 160 artists will have displays. This is Arizona's largest wine tasting event, featuring wines from Arizona, California, Australia, Germany, Austria, France and Italy. Sponsored by Thunderbird Artists.
