Holiday Storytime
Wednesdays, December 2, 9 & 16, 2009. Enjoy free hot chocolate and Paradise Bakery cookies while listening to story time readings of holiday classics with special guests and activities presented by PBS. Character visit from Clifford The Big Red Dog. Desert Ridge Marketplace, District Stage, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Cowboy Christmas at Rawhide
December 3-6, 10-13, 17-20, 24, 26, 27 & 31, 2009, January 1-3, 2010. Christmas lights, entertainment, and live music. An 80-foot tree and nightly tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. Festive stage performances. Kids of all ages can meet Santa and have their picture taken. Santa will arrive by horse drawn carriage on Dec. 11, 12, 18, 19 & 24. Admission and parking at Rawhide is free. There is a charge for stage performances and photos with Santa.
Cookies and Photos with Santa
December 4, 2009. Celebrate the holidays at the historic McCullough-Price House in Chandler. From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. enjoy cookies, crafts and a chance to chat with Santa. Professional photo packages available with Santa near the stylish fireplace of this historic 1938 home (no personal cameras allowed for photos with Santa). 300 S. Chandler Village Dr., southwest of Chandler Fashion Center. Suggested donation of $4 per family to enjoy cookies, cocoa and crafts.
Holiday Open House
Friday, December 4, 2009 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Historic Heritage Square will be decorated for the holiday season and the Rosson House will be available for tours. Historic Heritage Square. Call for ticket prices 602-262-5070.
Holiday Gift Boutique & Open House
Friday, December 4, 2009 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, December 5, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Deseret Aesthetic & Lifestyle Institute will feature jewelry, jeans, purses, spa service gift certificates, and sale items. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Run from the Sun Foundation, a non-profit devoted to fighting skin cancer, and Crisis Nursery in Mesa. Door prizes, refreshments. $10,000 in prizes is being raffled during the two-day event. RSVP prior to the event and receive a brow wax gift certificate. Donate a new, unwrapped toy, or boxed or canned food item, for Crisis Nursery and receive a free raffle ticket. 1425 W. Greenfield, Mesa.
Christmas Idea House and Home Tour
Friday, December 4 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, December 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They decorate a beautiful home that has been "loaned" to them and open the home for a tour. Christmas decorations and gourmet items for sale are made by members. Sponsored by Desert Club, a non profit Women's Organization. All profits are awarded to scholarships and special needs in the community. This year's home is in Gilbert.
Cookies, Cocoa, and Santa

Pancake Breakfast With Santa
Saturday, December 5, 2009. Time slots are 8 a.m., 9 a.m., and 10 a.m. Each child will receive a
goody bag, a photo with Santa and can play in the snow! Tickets must be pre-purchased at Mesa Arts Center box office. $5 for adults and $7 for children. Proceeds benefit Mesa Association of Sports for the Disabled. A toy drive will also be held. Bring in a new, unwrapped toy for a boy or girl.Red Mountain Multigenerational Center, 7550 E. My Kids in Sign "Christmas Splendor"

Holiday Shopping Extravaganza
Saturday, December 5, 2009, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. More than 40 vendors at Crismon Elementary School, 825 W. Medina, Mesa selling a variety of unique gifts. A raffle will be held to benefit the Michael Trey Lane Medical Fund. Michael Trey Lane is a 4 year old boy who has been diagnosed with MPS IV-A. Although there is no cure or treatment for his disorder, he has been told that an infusion therapy is being tested. Admission is free. The first 100 visitors will receive a free goodie bag.
Christkindlmarkt
December 5, 2009. The Christkindlmarkt, a celebration held throughout Central Europe, will bring cherished German and European traditions to Mesa with holiday entertainment, German and Austrian cuisine, vendors and local artisans selling merchandise. Admission is free. Near MacDonald and Main in Downtown Mesa. From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Holiday Ornament Brunch
Sunday, December 6, 2009. Guests dining at Lon's at The Hermosa may create their own holiday ornament keepsake during a special brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Instructors and students from the Scottsdale Artists' School Youth Academy will hand-paint designs selected by brunch patrons. Four themes will be available to personalize the ornaments: a holiday/seasonal, children's, desert and a western theme. Proceeds from the one-of-a-kind ornaments, $30 each, will go towards scholarships for less-fortunate children to attend school's winter and summer camps. For reservations call 602-955-7878.
Holiday Home Tours
Sunday, December 6, 2009. Tour several Fountain Hills holiday themed homes decorated inside and out with twinkling lights and sparkling ornaments. Admission: $15, children 12 and under free. Tour begins at the River of Time Museum.
