The Great Christmas Cookie Hunt
December 12, 2009. Enjoy finding clues at various businesses, register for special basket and eat delicious cookies along the route. This annual event brings residents and visitors out to walk around historic downtown Wickenburg and enjoy shopping along the way.

Santa Fest
December 12, 2009. Members of Cops Who Care provided an opportunity for children to visit with Santa Claus and have their photos taken. Wickenburg Town Hall, 155 N. Tegner Street, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Kitschy Votives & Holiday Cards
Saturday, December 12, 2009 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Teens ages 12-18 learn how to transform ordinary votive candle holders into works of art suitable for gift giving. Then create a unique holiday greeting card to accompany your gift. Velma Teague Branch Library, 7010 N. 58th Avenue, Glendale. Free. Dolly Steamboat Christmas Caroling Cruise
December 12, 2009 at 4 p.m. During this 90-minute scenic cruise you'll listen to and sing Christmas Carols, take pictures with Santa Claus, sipping hot chocolate and apple cider and munch on holiday cookies.

Dolly Steamboat Parade of Lights Dinner Cruise
December 12, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. During this 2-1/2 hour cruise you'll listen to festive Christmas music and see boats decked out in holiday lights while you enjoy a buffet-style dinner (not all-you-can-eat).

Holiday Art & Music Festival
December 12 & 13, 2009. Mesa Arts Center. The annual event features original works of art for sale, live entertainment showcasing local talent on two stages, artist demonstrations in glass blowing, metals and ceramics, children's activities, and a variety of beverages and food from featured local restaurants.

Gingerbread House Decorating for Teens
Monday, December 14, 2009 at 7 p.m. Teens pair up to decorate gingerbread houses. Registration is required and begins on Nov. 23. Call 623-930-3837, and press "6". Foothills Branch Library, 19055 N. 57th Ave., Glendale. Free.

Holiday Letters for Children

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, December 20, 21 and 22, 2009. This holiday tradition features story time with Mrs. Claus, a visit from the Teddy Bear, a puppet show, balloons and greetings from Santa Claus. Served at noon and at 3 p.m. $35 per adult/$25 per child ages 1 to 12.

A Storytime for the Season

Holidays at the Heard
