NASCAR is the acronym for the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing. There are various series of races and drivers/teams accumulate points in the standings. What is Phoenix International Raceway like?
Phoenix International Raceway, or "PIR," is located in the southwest part of the Valley at the base of the Estrella Mountains. It is a one mile paved oval on a 650 acre facility. It seats 78,000 people and is operated by the same company that operates the Daytona International Speedway.Where do people stay near Phoenix International Raceway?
PIR has motorhome spaces available in the Cruise America Motorhome City which is right next to the track. There are showers and restrooms and a general store. There are hundreds of spaces, but they sell out quickly. Call the PIR ticket office for more information about these spaces. You can also rent a motor home by contacting Cruise America at 1-800-327-7799 ext. 4. PIR also operates two camping areas in Estrella Park with about 1,200 spaces.
