Arizona Continues to Enhance the Process

Arizona has again revised the look of the Driver License. In a continuing effort to improve the efficiency and information included in the license, several changes have been made:

The Look

The background photo on the AZ driver license of the Grand Canyon is attractive and certainly a natural choice for Arizona.

The Photo

Digital photo technology is used and allows the Department of Transportation to instantly retrieve the photos. Those flimsy temporary licenses that used to be issued when one was lost are a thing of the past.

The Bar Code

This has been moved from the front to the back of the AZ driver license.

Security

The AZ driver license has an Optically Variable Ink graphic film laminate to reduce fraud.

Medical Alert

If the driver has a medical alert situation, that will be indicated next to the signature on the front of the AZ driver license.

Identification

It is now even easier to identify drivers who are under 21 years of age, because their licenses are different! See what they look like.
