Corvette License Plates
Arizona Corvette Owners Love to Personalize License Plates
When I was a teenager, I dreamed of one day owning a Corvette. At the time, it was the ultimate sports car--there weren't any BMW, Audi, or Lexus sports cars. OK, I would have taken a Porsche 914 or a Mercedes 250SL if someone gave it to me, but, oh, that Corvette was a hot car. Now there are many more choices, but Corvette fans remain true.
In 2004 I was contacted by Vanity Bob. No, he doesn't call himself that because he enjoys looking in the mirror. He is passionate about vanity license plates. Specifically, those plates that have adorned Corvettes across the country and around the world. He offered to share his list of Arizona plates with my readers. Why? Just for the fun of it!
A little more about this list before we get started:
- We don't know the dates of these plates. Some are current, but some may now be available again.
- Vanity Bob has collected this information for all 50 states for the past 20 years. How did he get it? From every imaginable source: magazine photos, streets, highways, DMV lists, car shows, and submissions directly to him from Corvette owners and watchers.
- When Vanity Bob started noting personalized license plates, he did it manually in 3-ring binders--68,000 of them! Then he finally entered them into spreadsheets. Of course, those were for all vehicles, not just Corvettes. Right now, Vanity Bob has over 10,000 Corvette vanity plates on his list.
- Vanity Bob also collects actual license plates. He's got over a thousand of them--at least one from each of the 50 states, as well as some international plates.
So here they are; there are 942 Arizona vanity plates on this list that are/were on Corvettes. Enjoy!
