Once again the Glendale Glitters celebration in Historic Downtown Glendale, Arizona will host thousands visitors who will start the holiday season off in style. Glendale Glitters events will take place between November 23, 2007 and January 19, 2008.

Glendale Glitters Holiday Light Display
Historic Downtown Glendale comes to life each holiday season with the addition of more than one-million multi-colored twinkling holiday lights located throughout a twelve-block area that includes the Old Towne and Catlin Court Districts. Arizona's Best Hometown Holiday tradition shines brightly from 6 to 10 p.m. all nights.Glendale Glitters Spectacular Weekend
The dates for the opening event of the Glendale Glitters Spectacular in 2007 are November 23 and 24. Hours are 5 to 10 p.m. both Friday and Saturday. The lights come on at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Complex Amphitheater just west of Murphy Park. There will be multiple stages of music and dance, food, seasonal merchandise, a children's wonderland, horse-drawn carriage rides, shopping and visits with Santa.Free shuttles will run from the Glendale Community College parking lot, at 59th and Olive Avenues, between 4 and 10:30 p.m.
Glendale's Gingerbread Nights
Friday, December 7 and Saturday, December 8, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Glendale Glitters celebrates gingerbread with a display of unique, handmade gingerbread houses created by local chefs. Gingerbread Nights features inflatable rides, a rock-climbing wall, horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday arts and craft merchandise and more. The downtown area will be adorned with Gingerbread House decorations. Kids will enjoy free make-and-take gingerbread crafts and,visits with Santa Claus. Families can bring blankets and watch a free showing of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory at 7 p.m.Glendale's Jingle Bells Rockin' Nights
Friday, December 14 and Saturday, December 15, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Downtown Glendales Murphy Park will be packed with music, lights and excitement. Instructors will be giving dance lessons. The event will also feature holiday arts and crafts, food and beverage, horse-drawn carriages rides, inflatable rides and visits with Santa Claus. Entertainment will include performances of both holiday music and oldies you can dance to, as well as dance troupe performances.Glendale's Spirit of Giving
Friday, December 21 and Saturday, December 22, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. This is a weekend dedicated to paying tribute to those organizations who make our community a better place to live. The City of Glendale, AZ is honoring and celebrating many non-profit organizations and companies that substantially give back to the Glendale community and Valleywide, including Sanderson Ford, Big Brothers Big Sisters, World Wildlife Zoo, Boys and Girls Club of Metropolitan Phoenix, Habitat for Humanity, American Red Cross and Southwest Airlines, and others. St. Mary's/Westside Food Bank will collect canned food items to benefit the less fortunate during this holiday season. The citys goal is to raise more than 10,000 pounds of food. Brings as many cans as you can to the north side of Murphy Park.The Spirit of Giving will also feature holiday arts and crafts, horse-drawn carriages rides, inflatable rides and visits with Santa Claus.
Glendale's Winter Wonderland Weekend
Friday, December 28 and Saturday, December 29, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. the Winter Wonderland weekend will feature a childrens snow field and ice sculpture carving. There are free make-and-take snowflake crafts, face-painting, a train ride, inflatable rides and miniature pony rides, in addition to the regular horse-drawn carriages rides. Arts and crafts merchandise vendors will be on hand, as well as food and beverage vendors. Bring a blankets to sit on the grass and watch family-oriented movie (6:30 p.m. both evenings).Where is Glendale Glitters?
Historic Downtown Glendale is located just east and north of 59th and Glendale Avenues. This map will help you find downtown Glendale. There are more than 2,000 free parking spaces within a 10-minute walk. Additional free parking and shuttles are available at Glendale Community College, 59th and Olive Avenues, a five-minute ride away. Security will be provided at the shuttle lot. Handicapped parking is located in all parking areas and handicapped participants can be dropped off at 58th Drive and Glenn Drive.How much does it cost?
There is no admission charge for Glendale Glitters events.What is the Glendale Glitter & Glow Block Party?
On January 19, 2008 from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Historic Downtown Glendale will glow tethered hot air balloons and more than a dozen fill the streets on the final night of Glendale's hometown holiday light display. Admission and parking are free.
