Where Are the 2008 Super Bowl Events?
Super Bowl 42 in 2008 will be held in Glendale, Arizona, but many of the events leading up to the game take place in various locations all over town. Greater Phoenix is very spread out. It incorporates more than 25 cities and towns and several thousand square miles. If you are planning to come to Phoenix to participate in Super Bowl activities and events (hopefully you have tickets to the big game, too!) it is difficult to know where to stay. Phoenix? Glendale? Scottsdale? Tempe? It all depends what you'll be doing.
#1 - Glendale Sports DistrictGlendale. The Super Bowl will be played at University of Phoenix Stadium, and the NFL Experience will be held in this area. There are sports bars and restaurants at Westgate City Center. The Pepsi Smash Super Bowl Bash will be at the Jobing.com Arena.
#2 - Tempe Town Lake
Tempe. The Super Bowl Block Party will take place here.
#3 - Downtown Scottsdale
Scottsdale. Many of the most popular night clubs are in this area. The
944 Super Village and Scottsdale Block Party will be held in the area,
as will the ESPN The Magazine Super Bowl Party and the Scottsdale
Super ArtWalk. The Big Ticket Gala Super Bowl XLII Bash at the
Phoenician Resort is close. The DirecTV Super Bowl event will be in
this area, and the Bud Bowl (as well as several other parties) will be
nearby at Axis/Radius night club.
#4 - Cricket Pavilion
West Phoenix. The Super Fiesta will be held here. This location is due
south and not far from the University of Phoenix stadium.
#5 - Phoenix Convention Center
Downtown Phoenix. Taste of the NFL. A few miles north of downtown in
central Phoenix you can attend the Arizona Indian Festival.
#6 - Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport
Phoenix. Just so you know where you'll be starting from and ending up.
#7 Barcelona
North Scottsdale. Barcelona, a restaurant and night club, is hosting
several public and private Super Bowl events, including the Diet Pepsi
NFL Rookie of the Year event and the NFL Players Association
event. Close to this location in north Scottsdale, the FBR
Open is not a Super Bowl party, but it is a major event happening here
during the days leading up and
including Super Bowl
Sunday. The professional golfers of the PGA come to north Scottsdale
every year to compete in the best attended golf tournament on the tour.
