Don't do it. You are not going to be happy being a Phoenician. Don't forget that Phoenix is the fifth largest city in the country. With that comes some challenges--every big city has positives and negatives. Maybe you should try a smaller city, one with less severe weather, or one closer to friends and family. Or maybe you shouldn't move at all!
