Apache Junction is southeast of Phoenix. Most of Apache Junction is actually in Pinal County, not Maricopa County like most of the other cities and towns of Greater Phoenix. Apache Junction's 4th of July event incorporates an entire day of family activities, fun, music and fireworks.

Morning swim events are at the Superstition Shadows Aquatic Center. Evening activities are at the Apache Junction HS Football Stadium, 2525 S. Ironwood Dr., Apache Junction

What will happen at the Apache Junction Hometown 4th of July Celebration?

Public swimming from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (regular fees apply) with age-appropriate games and races. Adult co-ed volleyball tournament at 8 a.m. Starting at 6 p.m. there will be free watermelon, provided by Apache Junction Little League, while supplies last. Inflatable/water games, bean bag toss, prize ponds, a dunk tank, a Bicycle, Wagon & Tricycle Float Contest (judging at 6:30 pm). The Big Zephyr will perform from 7-9 p.m. and will kick off the Fireworks Extravaganza at 9 p.m.

Admission is free. Parking is free, but limited.

What else do I need to know about Apache Junction's Hometown 4th of July Celebration?

No alcohol, glass containers, tobacco, weapons or fireworks may be brought in, and no alcohol will be sold or be allowed at the event. No smoking. People can bring in coolers with food and beverages. Coolers will be checked at the gates for prohibited items. Food and drinks will be available to purchase. Lawn chairs or blankets are allowed.
