Wigwam Resort Independence Day Celebration - 2012

Litchfield Park is the home of Wigwam Golf Resort & Spa. Litchfield Park is located west of Phoenix, in what is considered the southwest part of Greater Phoenix. The Wigweam is one of the premier resorts in the west valley.

Where is the Wigwam's Great American Picnic and Fireworks Celebration?

At the Wigwam Resort, of course. Here is a map to downtown Litchfield Park. The activities will take place on the first fairway of the Patriots Golf Course.

When is it?

Tuesday, July 3, 2012 from 5 p.m. to about 9 p.m.

What will happen at the Great American Picnic and Fireworks Celebration?

Pie and hot dog eating contests, potato sack races, and obstacle courses. Attendees can sign cards and letters that will be mailed to the troops serving overseas. Families may bring their American flags to be properly retired with help from the Blue Star Moms and the American Legion. Food and drink vendors and an All American BBQ will be available for purchase at about 6 p.m. After the barbecue, the Thaddeus Rose Band will perform. The fireworks show will take place at about 8:45 p.m.

What does it cost?

The buffet is $15 for adults and $8 for children ages 4 to 12. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Blue Star Moms of the Southwest Valley, a local nonprofit whose members have loved ones who currently serve, or have served, in the U.S. armed forces.

What else do I need to know?

If you aren't interested in the barbecue, the fireworks show is free and open to the public.
