Hot Enough To Fry an Egg on the Sidewalk?

Phoenix Summers Get Very Hot

By , About.com Guide

Phoenix, Arizona is located in the Sonoran Desert. I'm not going to sweeten it up for you -- it gets hot. During the summer we may have 100 or more days that are over 100 degrees, and our high temperature, 122°F, was recorded on June 26, 1990. Those of us who lived here then remember where we were on that day. Some people even have tee shirts commemorating the sweaty event.

You have probably heard the phrase, "it's so hot that you can fry an egg on the sidewalk." Where better to test the theory than on a hot summer day in Phoenix!
