The initial line of the METRO light rail system for Greater Phoenix covers about 20 miles in Phoenix, Tempe, and Mesa, Arizona. The five line sections are separate only to the extent that the contracts may be completed by different companies and the construction schedules may be different. Now that the light rail system is opens to the public, there is no differentiation between the sections.
