Senator John McCain

John McCain was elected to Congress representing what was then the first congressional district of Arizona in 1982. In 1986, McCain was elected to the United States Senate to take the place of Arizona Senator Barry Goldwater. Senator McCain is currently the senior senator from Arizona. In 2000, John McCain ran for the Republican nomination for President of the United States.He was not successful in that attempt.
