Almost Famous Film Festival
Almost Famous Film Festival holds its annual 48 Hour Film Challenge on the 3rd weekend of February. Short films. There are also educational workshops for the independent filmmaking community at the event.
Arizona Black Film Showcase
The Arizona Black Film Showcase, primarily geared towards Black filmmakers, but open to any filmmaker whose work features Black talent and/or storylines, accepts feature and short films for competition and documentaries for feedback and screening. The event is comprised of two days of educational workshops, film screenings, an awards ceremony, and vendor festival.
No Festival Required
Feature-length documentaries, narratives, and experimental and subversive packaged shorts shown at various venues. Not just once per year, check the schedule for future showings.
Peoria Film Festival
The Peoria Film Festival offers films in the following genres: Music Videos, Drama, Documentary, Animation, Action/Adventure, Horror,
Comedy and Sci-Fi. Student films (College/HS), short films and
feature length films will be featured. Held at Harkins Arrowhead 18. For an extra charge, several workshops are also offered.
Phoenix Film Festival
The Phoenix Film Festival is an international event held annually in the Spring to celebrate independent film and filmmaking.
Heard Museum Film Festival
The Heard Museum Film Festival features indigenous and American Indian films. Visitors can expect to meet and participate in discussions with filmmakers and/or actors from several of the films.
International Horror and Science Fiction Film Festival
Held in October, this film festival "celebrate those things that hide in the shadows." Films, parties, and mingling with celebrity guests.
Night Gallery Film Festival
In Casa Grande, about 50 miles south of Phoenix. Short films in the categories Drama, Comedy, Sci-Fi, Action, Suspense, Horror, Documentary, Music Videos, Animation, and Off Beat Films.
San Tan Short Film Festival
The San Tan Short Film Festival is a three day event that takes place in the fall in Queen Creek.
Scottsdale International Film Festival
The Scottsdale International Film Festival is a four day event that takes place in late October or November each year.
Out Far!
The Annual Out Far! Phoenix International Lesbian and Gay Film Festival was canceled after 2006 due to lack of attendance.
Phoenix Jewish Film Festival
The Phoenix Jewish Film Festival presents a program of films to facilitate a stronger sense of identity and belonging within the local Jewish Community. and to reach out to the non-Jewish community to improve awareness and understanding of Jewish culture and experience. There are discussions after the films.
