When is Railfair?
October 8 and 9, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.Where is Railfair?
Railfair takes place at McCormick Stillman Railroad Park in Scottsdale. That is located on the southeast corner of Indian Bend Road and Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale, AZ. The address is 7301 E. Indian Bend Road, Scottsdale AZ 85250.How do I get tickets for Railfair and how much are they?
No tickets are necessary. Admission to Railfair is free. Parking is free, too. If your child wants to ride on the carousel or take a train ride, tickets for those activities are sold at the event. The rides are $2 each, children under the age of 3 ride free with a paying adult. What else should I know about Railfair?
Railfair has both outdoor and indoor exhibits. The main attractions are the model train displays where you'll find O, N, and HO scale trains. Some of the displays are simple and straightforward, and some are rather amazing and intricate! Rides on the miniature locomotives take place continuously throughout the day; each ride lasts about 10 minutes. The Model Railroad Building opened in 2010. It is a 10,000 square foot building where the park's four model railroad clubs work on their trains and tracks.
Life-size trains are on display at Railfair, too, and you can visit the museum for free during Railfair.
If you want to take a break from the trains -- I wouldn't but some of the little kids do! -- check out the carousel, bouncy houses and playground.
