Companies in the greater Phoenix area have competed for recognition as one of the Best Places to Work in the Valley each year since 2003. Those companies that employ at least 10 employees in the metro Phoenix area (Maricopa and Pinal counties) are invited each year to apply for consideration, but the employees of the company are the ones who provide the data that determines the winners.
The list of Best Places to Work in the Valley is based solely on the employee's survey results. In 2008 there were more than 100 Phoenix area companies recognized by being included in the Best Places to Work in the Valley list. According to BestCompaniesAZ, LLC, "Despite the economic downturn, we had a record breaking number of applicants this year, representing a 50 percent increase in the number received last year."
The Phoenix area companies selected this year were grouped into 5 categories: Extra-Large Companies, Large Companies, Midsize Companies, Small Companies, and Micro Companies.
Here are the top companies in each category. Since the larger companies in Greater Phoenix almost always have job openings of one kind or another, I have linked to some current open positions for those companies listed here.
