These summer camps cater especially to people who have special needs and their families. Included are camps for the physically challenged and children with various medical conditions.
Arizona Camp Sunrise
A special needs camp for children who have or have had cancer and for their brothers and sisters. Sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
Arizona Magic of Music & Dance
A one week program for children and young adults with physical and mental disabilities that prepares them to stage a theater production written and choreographed especially for them.
Arizona Recreation Center for the Handicapped
Phoenix. Ages 8-21. General activities, half day sessions.
Camp Honor
A special needs camp for children with hemophilia and/or HIV, their siblings, and children of hemophiliacs. Sponsored by the Hemophilia Association.
Camp Rainbow
A special needs camp for children of Arizona who have or have had cancer. Youngsters gather to do all the fun things youngsters do at summer camp: swim, fish, hike, ride horseback, make new friends, and more.
Foundation for Blind Children
Central Phoenix and East Valley. Several programs are available: Technology Camp, Health and Fitness Camp, Performing Arts Camp, Mobility Camp, and Swim Lessons.
