RM Auctions - Classic Car Auction

RM Auctions is one of several auction companies that conducts a classic car auction in Arizona each January.

Beginning as a car restoration company in 1976, RM Auctions has grown into a well-respected investment-grade collector car auction company, offering the finest motor cars to a discerning clientele. Collectors and admirers of vintage automobiles flock to Arizona each winter, and RM Auctions is high on the list of must-attend classic car auctions. In October 2011 RM Auctions sold the world’s oldest running motor car, a historic 1884 De Dion Bouton et Trepardoux Dos-a-Dos Steam Runabout, for an impressive $4.62 million. That was a record!

Where does RM Auctions take place?

At the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa in Phoenix, Arizona. That is located near 24th Street & Missouri in Phoenix, Arizona. Here is a map with directions to the Arizona Biltmore.

How much does it cost to attend the auction?

An official auction catalog is available for US$120 and includes admission for two people to both the preview and auction. If you intend to bid on any vehicle, you must register and arrange for that. Aside from typical requirements, like identification and a bank guarantee or credit card authorization, bidders pay a $200 which includes the catalog and admission for two people. You can register to be a bidder online for bidding at the auction, by phone or via the Internet.

How do I know what kinds of cars will be auctioned?

You can see them online. You can also order the catalog (which is also your ticket to get into the event) online. If you order the catalog online, and you intend to come to either the preview or the auction, don't forget to bring your catalog with you!

What does "without reserve" mean?

The term "without reserve" means that there is no minimum required bid for that vehicle. The auctioneer will sell the vehicle to the highest bidder. At this auction, some vehicles are auctioned without reserve and some are not.

What else should I know about attending the RM Auctions?

During preview days, you are welcome to walk around and take a look at all the vehicles that will be auctioned. You may take photographs. Even if you are not a bidder, you are welcome to watch the auction process -- it's entertaining!

Is there a vendor show or entertainment at this event?

No, you won't find memorabilia, trinkets or toy cars here. There's no night club or entertainment. Just classic cars. Food and beverages are available for purchase.

Do you have pictures of an RM Auctions event?

Yes. These pictures were taken in January 2011, and will give you an idea of what you have to look forward to.
