In a park near the Arizona State Capitol a symbolic memorial was erected where Arizonans can remember the events of a tragic day in America's history, as well as the part that Arizona citizens played in that event and in the days that followed.
Located in Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza, the memorial is circular. Steel beams overhead allow sunlight to pass through revealing comments and excerpts related to the September 11th terrorist attacks on the U.S. The 9/11 memorial was dedicated on September 11, 2006 and supported by Arizona's governor at that time, Janet Napolitano.
Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza is located at 17th Avenue and Washington Street in Phoenix. Here is a map with directions.
