Aid to Adoption of Special Kids

Dedicated to finding permanent, loving homes for children with special needs.

Arizona Bridge to Independent Living

Programs designed to empower people with disabilities to take personal responsibility so they may achieve or continue independent lifestyles within the community.

Arizona Center for Disability Law

This is an advocacy group to protect the legal rights of persons with disabilities.

Arizona Recreation Center for the Handicapped (A.R.C.H.)

Provides therapeutic programs, educational and developmental programs, socialization opportunities and basic living skills.

Arizona Supports Kids with Mental Illness (ASK-MI)

a network of parents whose children have mental illness.

Central Arizona Shelter Services (C.A.S.S.)

Their mission is to reduce homelessness in the Valley of the Sun by helping homeless people attain their highest level of self-sufficiency.

Community Information and Referral

They have a 24 hour help line operating 24/7 that provides referrals to government and nonprofit agencies, businesses, support groups and other organizations serving the disability community.

Florence Crittenton Services of Arizona, Inc.

Provides shelter, education, counseling and social support to girls ages 10-18 who suffer from abuse, neglect, teen pregnancy and mental health problems.

Gompers Center

The majority of individuals who attend Gompers Center were born with multiple disabilities such as Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Seizure Disorder, Mental Retardation and Down Syndrome.

Greater Phoenix Chapter Autism Society of America

A support group with monthly meetings.

Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central & Southern Arizona

Their mission is to fulfill the wishes of children of Central and Southern Arizona under the age of 18 with life threatening illnesses.

Mental Health Association of Arizona

Promotes awareness of effective prevention and treatment of mental disorders.

Mentally Ill Kids In Distress

Providing advocacy and support for families with a child that has mental illness, a behavioral health issue or an emotional disability.

Service Dog Schools

A contact list of service dog schools nationally and in Arizona.

Southwest Human Development

Provides a full array of services, including therapy and socialization opportunities, to children with disabilities and their families. Assistive Technology services, including information and referral, equipment demonstrations and therapy available.

Special Olympics Arizona

Children and adults with mental retardation participate in year round sports training and athletic competitions. With over 7,000 athletes and 2500 volunteers Special Olympics Arizona offers six state level events.
