In May 2009 CBcampus.com and Apartments.com released their list of the best cities for job prospects for the graduating class of 2009. Even though these graduates face the challenge of graduating at a time of some economic distress in the U.S., there are still opportunities to be found.
Phoenix, Arizona made the top ten list, ranking at #7. In this study, the average rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Phoenix was stated as $747 (2009). Only four cities on this list (Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Cleveland, San Antonio) had a lower average rent. The most popular entry-level positions noted in Phoenix for recent college graduates are sales, customer service, and marketing.
