Glendale Summer Band is an eight-week concert series during June and July each year. Music lovers of all ages will be entertained by this community band of approximately 100 volunteer musicians playing marches, ballads and show tunes. The Glendale Summer Band is the longest-running community band in Arizona. The band was formed in 1966.

It is still pretty hot on summer evenings in the Phoenix area, and not many outdoor events are scheduled during June or July here. Take advantage of this opportunity! Bring lawn chairs or a blanket on which you can sit. Bring your own cooler or purchase snacks and beverages at the venue.

When: Every Thursday at 8 p.m., June 6 through July 25, 2013. The only exception is that there will be no concert on the 4th of July -- the patriotic concert will take place the night before, on Wednesday, July 3, 2013.

Where: Murphy Park Amphitheater, located at 59th Avenue and Glenn Drive.

Parking: Free

Cost: Free

More Information: Glendale Special Events online or by phone to 623-930-2299.

All dates, times, prices and offerings are subject to change without notice.
