The Governor of Arizona has officially proclaimed the third week in February as Arizona Beer Week in support of The Arizona Craft Brewers Guild. While there have been beer events in Phoenix before, this week-long homage to beer makes its inaugural appearance in 2012.

The Arizona Craft Brewers Guild was created in 1998, the membership of which includes most of the brewing operations registered in Arizona. The guild provides educational opportunities for brewers, distributors and consumers. Arizona Beer Week is just one way that the members of the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild make the public aware of and allow them to sample the various types and styles of beer produced in Arizona.What events are associated with Arizona Beer Week in the Phoenix area?
Saturday, February 16, 2013 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.The signature event of Arizona beer Week is the Arizona Strong Beer Festival with music, vendors and of course, beer. 21+ only, ID required. In 2013, the Strong Beer Festival will take place at Steele Indian School Park in Phoenix. General admission is $35 per person, $10 for designated drivers (no beer).
Sunday, February 17, 2013 from noon to 4 p.m.
Sunday's main event is the AZ Beer Week Brews Cruise. The ride leaves SanTan Brewery in Downtown Chandler at 1 p.m. and goes to Sidelines Sports Grill. From there we'll go to to Uncle Bears and then the AZ Beer Week Party at Coach & Willies, back in Downtown Chandler. $25 ticket includes grub and a SanTan pint at the start, SanTan pint at Sidelines Sports Grill, SanTan pint at Uncle Bears, SanTan pint and AZ Beer Week Party at Coach & Willies.
Other events around town and around Arizona include beer breakfasts, beer brunches, food and beer specials, food and beer pairings, pub crawls, bike rides and other specialty beer tasting events at breweries, bars and restaurants.
